  • This program serves parents from pregnancy up until their child is 3 months old
  • This program is for families experiencing barriers in raising a healthy family
  • Families must reside in Adair County

The Nest provides parenting education classes and support groups with free childcare for parents of young children. We connect families to resources and support in the community, and families have the chance to receive free essential household items each week at The Nest.

Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention

LSI’s Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention program supports and educates Iowa youth and teenagers. We lift up students in need of peer support, guidance, or a listening ear, and we introduce them to healthy decision-making to prevent high-risk behaviors or unplanned pregnancies.

Eligibility

  • This program is open to all middle school and high school students in Woodbury County
  • Students must be referred to this program by a school official, including a nurse, a health teacher, a counselor, or an administrator

Teen Parenting

LSI’s Teen Parenting program supports and educates Iowa teenagers who are raising young children. We lift up students in need of peer support, guidance, or a listening ear, and we provide parenting education that can help their new families thrive.

Eligibility

  • This program is open to all middle school and high school students in Woodbury County
  • Students must be referred to this program by a school official, including a nurse, a health teacher, a counselor, or an administrator

Crisis Child Care

Emergencies happen. LSI provides free, short-term child care for families who are experiencing a crisis or emergency.

Eligibility

  •  Children must be between the ages of 0-12
  • Families must reside in Story or Boone County
  • A family must be experiencing a crisis (medical, death, domestic abuse, acute parental stress)
