LSI’s mission calls us to respond to the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service. And we believe that serving includes ensuring the voices of our Iowa neighbors are heard. Advocate for children and families in need. Stand with LSI to build a stronger Iowa community.

Advocacy in Action

Lutheran Day on the Hill

Families in poverty. Iowa children in need of a forever family. Former refugees building new lives.

These kinds of issues are rarely the center of attention at the Iowa State Capitol. Let’s change that! Join LSI and the three Iowa synods of the ELCA for Lutheran Day on the Hill, an annual day of advocacy to uplift the needs of our neighbors.

Ready to get involved? Save the date for our 2018 Lutheran Day on the Hill, which will be held Thursday, February 8.

Iowa Stands with Refugees

LSI has a long history of welcoming refugees to our state. We offer services such as English classes, job training, and more to empower our newest neighbors.

When we open our arms to refugees in our community, we all rise. Iowa must continue to stand for “welcome.” We must do more. We must be more.

Learn more about how you can donate, advocate, and volunteer to lift up our refugee brothers and sisters.

You can purchase the Iowa Stands with Refugees t-shirt at RAYGUN, and a portion of the proceeds benefit LSI.
