Crisis Child Care

LSI provides up to 72 hours of crisis child care in Story and Boone Counties. This program is for any family facing a crisis, such as medical emergency, homelessness or critical stress, and who has no other available child care options or support system. LSI will help transport your child to a licensed child care provider so you can focus on resolving your family emergency.

LSI also provides a crisis child care program in Polk County for parents in crisis who have little to no support system. LSI’s certified respite providers will provide temporary care for your child so you can avoid a family crisis situation.

Who is eligible?

You are eligible if you have no other options for support and are a Story or Boone County family with children ages 0 to 12 or a Polk County family with children ages 0 to 18.
