Process

We want to make sure volunteering is a safe and successful time for everyone involved. Because we provide intensive services to Iowans, we require some extra paperwork and a background check process as part of volunteering at LSI.

Thanks in advance for your patience during this process! Here’s how it works:

1. Fill out our online volunteer application by choosing your local region here.
2. Complete background and reference checks.
3. Complete a TB (tuberculosis) screen if needed for your volunteer position.
4. Schedule an interview so we can talk about your interests and schedule.
5. Get ready to volunteer! Schedule your orientation session.
