LSI's Davenport site awarded $235,900 contract for Scott County Brief Intensive Services

Lutheran Services in Iowa's (LSI) Davenport site has been awarded a $235,900 contract for Scott County Brief Intensive Services, a program that provides services to at-risk Scott County children ages six to 17.

LSI was selected as the contract provider as the result of a highly competitive bidding process. The one-year contract is renewable for up to five years.

“We are extremely proud and excited to begin providing Scott County Brief Intensive Services,” said Scott Caldwell, LSI director of mental health and community services. “This program can be a lifeline to a family who is struggling with their child or teen or concerned about their behavior in school. It’s designed to help at-risk children and families be successful and to prevent future issues, such as involvement with juvenile court or the child welfare system. It’s also exciting that this program can serve families who do not typically qualify for state services and might otherwise fall through the cracks.”

Scott County Brief Intensive Services is a family-centered program where services are provided in the home to children and youth who are at risk of becoming involved with the juvenile justice or child welfare system. The program helps youth build skills and can connect families with additional community resources. Goals include helping the child be successful in school, preventing involvement with the juvenile court or child welfare system and helping a family develop a support network.

The program can also assist families who are exiting the juvenile justice or child welfare system but may still need support.

Law enforcement, school personnel, community services, the Iowa Department of Human Services and Juvenile Court Services can all refer families to the program. Families can also refer themselves for services.

To learn more about this program, call the LSI Davenport office at (563) 322-7419.

LSI impacts the lives of tens of thousands of Iowans annually through residential treatment, services to families, home health care, early childhood programs, adoption/foster care services, refugee resettlement, services for people with disabilities, disaster response initiatives and Barnabas Uplift. LSI serves people of all ages, genders, nationalities, religions, ethnicities and sexual orientations and is affiliated with Lutheran Services in America and three Iowa synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
