People Place is an LSI family resource center in Ames with classes, drop-in days and parenting groups. People Place is open to any parent in Story County or the surrounding areas and has many classes on topics such as positive discipline, child development, special needs and other subjects. Books and Videos
Many LSI programs have lending libraries or access to books, articles, videos, audiotapes and children’s literature for both parents and children.
Do you know what resources are available in your local community? We’ll help you find them.
LSI staff members know your community well and can help connect you to many resources. Examples might be an after school program for an older child, utility or rent assistance, food pantries, furniture banks, a wellness program, health or dental clinics or a support group.

If you are participating in an LSI program, we encourage you to take advantage of these additional resources.
