Trauma-Informed Approaches to Addressing Family Violence and Child Welfare
The University of Northern Iowa Department of Social Work invites social workers, mental health professionals, social service workers, students, and members of the community to our annual Trauma-Informed Care Conference! We have a fantastic lineup of speakers, all of whom are experts in the field of trauma, children’s mental health, and clinical practice. This year, we are offering both in-person and virtual options. We hope to see you there!

9 – 10:15 a.m.: Morning Keynote: Dr. Kendall Tackett — New Paradigms for Depression in New Mothers

10:30 a.m. to noon: Breakout Session A: Dr. Rebecca Dickinson — Adlerian Play Therapy; Breakout Session B: Dr. Maria Corona — Healing, Justice, and Safety

1 – 2:30 p.m.: Breakout Session C: Frank Grijalva — The KINNECT Curriculum; Breakout Session D: Lisa Cushatt — Utilizing the ACEs Framework to Improve Iowa’s Systems

3 – 4 p.m.: Afternoon Keynote: Dr. Kendall Tackett — Birth Trauma

RSVP/Registration
Register online by Sept. 13, 2021. This training costs $50 for in-person attendees (includes lunch and access to conference video recordings). Those attending in person will have access to the breakout sessions they were unable to attend while at the event. There is a non-refundable $30 fee to access video recordings of the workshops only. CEU certificates will be emailed to recipients after successful completion of the online training and quiz. For virtual attendees, a course quiz will need to be completed for each certificate.
