This training, delivered by Omaha’s newest youth violence prevention program, YouTurn, provides unique insight into gangs, violence, and Omaha’s highest risk youth. Through presentation, video, case studies, and panels/Q&A with credible messengers, learn about this important topic and the work YouTurn is doing.

Participants will:

  • Learn the facts vs. myths of Omaha gangs/highest risk youth
  • Gain insight into the mindset of Omaha’s highest risk youth
  • Understand how mediation and conflict resolution are used to give youth new skills in addressing youth violence
  • Learn how changing individual behavior and community norms support the “cure” of youth violence

This training has been approved for 3 hours of foster parent training credit

Always notify your caseworker or recruiter of your intention to attend any of the training or support group events on this calendar.
