Setting Our Kids up for Success

This training will focus on empowering children’s brains and bodies in order to help them be more successful in daily life. We will explore three major differences that trauma causes on children’s brains. We will then discuss why traditional parenting strategies are ineffective due to these differences. Finally, we will develop brain-based strategies accordingly. Topics include how to increase felt safety, balance neurochemicals naturally, and develop regulation strategies. Three models of regulation will be included. Caregivers will create regulation kits containing ideas to calm and alert their child according to her regulation needs. The goal is to increase your child’s awareness and ability to regulate using various practical ideas.
