Setting up for Caregiver Success

Parenting children from hard places takes a toll on us, the caregivers. So often, trainings focus on just children, but tonight’s focus is giving caregivers support and resources for success. Topics include how to establish and equip a support system, how to focus on taking care of ourselves as caregivers, and how to be honest to ourselves and others about the challenges this journey brings. The goal of this session is to feel empowered, refreshed, and ready to handle the many challenges that impact caregivers of children from hard places.

Instructor: Darci Van Voorst, BSW, Trust-Based Relational Interventions Practitioner, Adverse Childhood Effects Trainer, and Certified Parent Coach.

This training has been approved for 2 hours of foster parent training credit.

Please print and fill out this certificate and bring it to the training. Have your caseworker and training facilitator sign the form to ensure you receive the CEUs available. Always notify your caseworker or recruiter of your intention to attend any of the training or support group events on this calendar. Acceptable proof would also include the signature of the trainer on either training materials or notes that includes the title and date of the training.
