Join us for a free half day training for foster and adoptive families! Parents/caregivers and foster/adoptive workers will attend the training, while children enjoy activities at Camp Autumn (4233 Yew Ave., Sutherland, IA). Foster/adoptive workers is defined as anyone who works with foster and adoptive families, not just those who work for foster/adoptive organizations.

This training will provide foster parents, adoptive parents, and individuals who work with foster/adoptive parents and children with education, information, and personal experience related to the function of behavior and the significance of seeing past behavior to the needs and desires being communicated, as well as how to support good patterns of communication through understanding some basic education about trauma and brain development. 

Camp activities are provided for children while parents are in training. Lunch is available for all! 

Instructors: This training will be led by Seasons’ Permanency Support Specialist, Sherri Huizenga, LBSW, CADC, and Seasons’ Outpatient Therapist, Brittany Krause, tLMHC.

This training has been approved for 3 hours of resource parent training credit.
