Challenging behaviors are just that – challenging! Join us for a 3-hour training that includes education, behavior management strategies, and de-escalation techniques. The trainers are also leaving time at the end of the training to be able to “check in” with foster parents and provide support and feedback, as foster parents are supporting some of the most vulnerable youth in a very unnerving and unprecedented time. Each portion of the training is based in evidence-based research with a focus on understanding a child’s developing brain. Training is provided by LSI Therapist, Anne Peters, and LSI Master’s level intern, Emily Dicks. General schedule of training is as follows:

12 – 12:45 p.m. – Introductions and education on why these strategies are effective

12:45 -12:50 p.m. – Brief break

12:50-1:50 p.m. – De-escalation and behavior management strategies

1:50-2 p.m. – Break

2 – 3 p.m. – Open conversation

Instructor: Anne Peters, LPHA II, BHIS

This training has been approved for 3 hours of foster parent training credit.
