The purpose of this training is to develop a deeper understanding of domestic violence to better serve those who may be experiencing it. Through the scenario, trainees will learn about the difficulties that come from those who have been impacted by domestic violence and common pitfalls in working with those so affected.

Participants will learn:

  • The challenges of engaging families experiencing domestic violence
  • How power and control are connected to domestic violence
  • How to approach and engage a person who may be experiencing domestic violence

Scenarios are enacted in Project Harmony’s training theater to facilitate experiential learning.

This training has been approved for 2 hours of foster parent training credit.

Always notify your caseworker or recruiter of your intention to attend any of the training or support group events on this calendar.
