11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.: Families First Act in Iowa
An update on policies, programs, and resources that are being leveraged to successfully implement the Family First Act in Iowa.

12:45 – 1:45 p.m.: Being More Than Aware: Professionally Addressing the Unique Needs of LGBTQ+ Youth in Rural Iowa
A panel of professionals will speak on their experiences working with LGBTQ+ youth in rural Iowa. 

Instructors: Dr. Daniel Zinnel, CEO of Proteus, Inc.; Malycki, LGBTQ advocate, member of the One Iowa Team; Jordan Mix, Deputy Director of Education of Iowa Safe Schools  

2 – 3 p.m.: GVI: Evidence-based Approach to Violence Reduction
Besides reducing violence, the GVI model also works to build trust between the community and criminal justice agencies. 

Instructors: Tony Wilson, retired educator and military officer, master facilitator, and transformation specialist; Rachel Rockwell, Organizational Development Consultant

3:15 – 4:15 p.m.: It Takes a Village to Raise a Community
A community approach to bringing stakeholders together in a changing society to transform the lives of our youth and subsequently our communities. 

Instructors: Dr. Stacey Cole, Superintendent of the Storm Lake Community School District; Christ Cole, Chief of Police in Storm Lake 

This training has been approved for 6 hours of resource parent training credit.
