Standards 18, 19.01, 19.02, and 19.03 are applicable to all programs including Long Term Home Visitation, Short Term Home Visitation, and Group Based Parent Education programs.

Standard 18 includes policy, procedure, and practice for organizations that provide family support services which prohibits employment-related retaliation against employees, and others affiliated with the organization.

Standard 19 includes policy, procedure, and practice for organizations that provide family support services conducts business and delivers services in an honest, ethical, objective manner and is guided in making decisions by professional responsibility.

Standards 16.01, 16.02, and 17 are applicable to all programs including Long Term Home Visitation, Short Term Home Visitation, and Group Based Parent Education programs.

Standard 16 includes policy, procedure, and practice for the operations of organizations that provide family support services in an open and transparent manner in accordance with applicable legal requirements and uses assets exclusively and effectively to serve the purpose for which it has been created.

Standard 17 includes policy, procedure, and practice for the operations of organizations that provide family support services which prevents the enrichment of insiders and other abuses through the adoption and enforcement of a conflict of interest policy consistent with state laws and regulations.

Staff understands, acknowledges, and respects cultural differences among families.  Staff and materials used reflect the cultural, linguistic, geographic, racial and ethnic diversity of the population served.

The Iowa Family Support Credential (IFSC) hosts quarterly webinars for new supervisors or coordinators to learn about the IFSC, what the process is for earning or renewing the IFSC, what to expect as a supervisor or coordinator of an IFSC credentialed program, and to collaborate with other new supervisors or coordinators.

Each New Supervisor or Coordinator webinar is different. Feel free to join as many as you need to so you can “hit the ground running” in your new position.

Standard 14.02 is only applicable to early intervention programs.

Standard 14.03 is only applicable to group based parent education programs and home visit programs that contain a group component.

Standard 14.06 is only applicable to long term and short term home visitation programs.

Standard 14 includes policy, procedure, and practice for family support programs relating to capable personnel helping children and families consider options, improve their functioning, and achieve their goals.
