Everyone deserves a home and to be loved and accepted for who they are.

That’s the driving force behind Heather’s passion to serve as a Host Homes mentor, and her family can’t wait to meet their new mentee!

Heather is part of a family of eight – including her wife, Danielle, their children, two dogs, and one cat. A typical day in their family involves sharing breakfast before getting ready to start their day. In their free time, Heather and her family love going to the movies together or spending time outside. Heather enjoys spending time with her dogs and in her free time, she likes singing. They love going camping as a family – especially when it’s time to make s’mores.

Heather’s family is Christian but their home is open and accepting to individuals from all walks of faith. The home is open to a male or female Host Homes mentee, and smoking is allowed outside. Her house is located in a quiet neighborhood near a park, HyVee, Target, and Walmart. It includes five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, with a large living room upstairs and a rec room downstairs.

Heather’s Host Homes mentee would be welcome to celebrate all major holidays with her family. On Thanksgiving, they decorate gingerbread houses and on Christmas, Santa comes. Another family tradition is having family dinners and grilling out. Heather’s perfect day would be hanging out, having fun, and spending time together. If that sounds like the perfect fit for you or someone you know, reach out today! Contact us by calling 515.238.3085 or emailing HostHome@LSIowa.org.

A message from Heather to her Host Homes mentee: “Welcome to my home! Please make yourself at home! Our home is an open book, ask anything you want. Our home is your home!”
