Julie is eager to provide care for someone who could benefit from Host Homes instead of a group living environment. She has six years of experience in this work, in addition to several years of serving individuals experiencing mental illness.
Her typical day includes waking up early, starting off with a cup of coffee and the news, and spending time with her dog, Billy. She is able to provide support for her Host Homes mentee throughout the day to ensure they get the care they need to succeed. In her free time, Julie enjoys going on vacation, camping, fishing, reading, and playing games.
Julie has experience serving male Host Homes mentees, and would prefer to open her home to a male. Her brother will be staying in the home for a while, and Julie loves spending time with her large family when she can. She sees her parents and siblings often and enjoys the visits from her daughters and grandchildren, and her Host Homes mentee is welcome to join them in spending time together.
The perfect day for Julie would involve being with her family, camping, and resting at the end of the day with a good book. If you or someone you know would be interested in meeting Julie, contact us today! Call 515.238.3085 or email HostHome@LSIowa.org.
A message from Julie to her Host Homes mentee: “Welcome! I can’t wait to meet you and share my life with you. I hope you enjoy getting to know me and being a part of my extended family.”
