Location: Ankeny

Rushimisha and his family are ready to welcome a host home mentee into their home. With over 8 years of experience in the disabilities field, Rushimisha is excited for the opportunity to offer meaningful support and guidance to someone in his home. While he prefers to welcome a non-smoking male mentee, he is open to working with anyone who may be the right fit for him and his family.

Located in Ankeny, the family lives in a pet-free apartment on the 4th floor, conveniently situated near gas stations and restaurants. Rushimisha shares the space with his wife and young son. Their apartment features a cozy living room, a dining area, a well-equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, and spacious closets in each bedroom. Additional amenities include in-unit laundry and a charming balcony perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.

Together, the family enjoys cooking, cleaning, exercising, watching TV, and staying active in their community. Rushimisha also enjoys playing guitar, volunteering, traveling, attending church activities, and occasionally playing sports.

A typical day for Rushimisha starts with getting ready in the morning and preparing for the day ahead. In the afternoons, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. When the weather is nice, they often go for walks or enjoy dinner out as a family. They also like to stay active by going to the gym together.

A message from Rushimisha to his Host Homes mentee: “It will be a privilege to welcome a mentee into our home. I am committed to doing my best to make him feel at home and safe. I will humbly provide the services and support he needs to succeed. My goal is to offer all the help and encouragement necessary for him to achieve his goals and feel included in our community.”
