With over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, Gilbert is excited to welcome a mentee into his home. He is currently working as a Psychiatric Lead Technician on a Behavioral health Unit at a medical center. Located in Cedar Rapids, his home offers a comfortable and accessible living environment, just minutes away from local amenities including Walmart, a gym, and nearby hospitals.
Gilbert lives alone in a spacious, pet-free home. He has two children who visit for an extended time during the holiday season each year. His house features 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms and one bathroom are located on the main floor—making them easily accessible without the need for stairs. The lower level includes two additional bedrooms, a bathroom, and a living room.
In his spare time, Gilbert enjoys a variety of hobbies such as reading, doing puzzles and games, watching movies or TV shows, drawing, painting, cooking, journaling, walking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
A typical day for Gilbert starts early with a morning walk, followed by breakfast and planning for the day. In the evenings, he spends time at the gym, prepares dinner, relaxes with some TV, and ends his day with prayer before going to bed around 11:00 PM.
