Milinda and her husband are ready to welcome a mentee into their home. Located in quiet, wooded area of Urbandale, their home offers a peaceful and welcoming space with plenty of natural light, comfortable living areas, and room for privacy. It is also close to several great spots, including grocery stores, parks, restaurants, walking trails, and a public library. Their home also includes 3 parrots; Solly, Scarlet, and Buddy.
With many years experience as a host home provider as well as a variety of roles in the human services field, supporting others has always been Milinda’ passion. Milinda’s goal is to make sure that her mentee feels truly at home and is committed to creating a daily routine that fits her mentee’s style. They are looking to welcome a non-smoking individual into their home.
An average day for Milinda and her husband starts with a relaxed breakfast, focusing on daily routines, and enjoying time together in the community. In the evenings, we unwind with activities like watching a movie or playing games. We also care for our 3 parrots. Above all, we aim for a balanced day where everyone feels supported, respected, and at ease.
Milinda enjoys cooking, spending time with family, caring for her parrots, listening to music, watching movies, and being outdoors in peaceful natural settings. She values creating a calm, supportive home and building meaningful relationships. As a Christian, her faith guides her kindness, patience, compassion, and respect for others. Her goal is to always create an inclusive, welcoming home where everyone feels safe and valued, regardless of their personal faith or beliefs.
