A message from Lacy to her Host Homes mentee: “Hello, my name is Lacy, and I want to welcome you into our home. My husband and I are in our early 40s, and we both work outside of the home with very flexible schedules. We have two grown children. One is currently attending Iowa State University, and the other owns his own business here in Des Moines. Family is very important to us, and we value creating a supportive, balanced environment where everyone feels respected.

We live in a convenient location, very close to shopping centers and local stores, which makes

errands and outings easy. Our home is warm and welcoming, with a swimming pool in the

backyard that we enjoy during the summer months. We also share our space with two friendly

Sheepadoodles, Oakley and Leo, who bring a lot of joy and personality to the household.

I’ve built a career in creative industries, running businesses where I help people feel confident and supported. Beyond work, I’m passionate about mentoring, teaching, and guiding others through life in a way that encourages growth, independence, and self-confidence. I believe in creating an environment that is safe, respectful, and supportive. My goal is to encourage independence while being here for you whenever guidance is needed. Everyone’s journey is unique, and I’m committed to meeting you where you are, celebrating your progress, and helping you grow at your own pace.

We look forward to walking beside you, helping you navigate challenges, and celebrating successes. My hope is that during your time here, you’ll not only feel supported but also discover more about who you are and what you’re capable of.
