Give to LSI

Support Your Iowa Neighbors

We value the children, adults, and families we serve, and maximizing our impact. That’s why we spend 89 cents of every dollar received on services.

Through the generosity of thousands of individuals, churches, and organizations, LSI has helped bring hope, healing, and wholeness to Iowa communities for more than 150 years. Thank you to all who have contributed to make this possible!

LSI needs your support to continue this legacy and expand our impact across Iowa, so please make a gift today in support of our neighbors and communities. When you support LSI, you lift up Iowa parents by providing them with the education and resources they need to thrive. You welcome former refugees to their new home and new life in Iowa. You empower Iowans with disabilities as they build their independence.

Planned Giving

LSI has responded to the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service for more than 150 years. This has created a legacy of lifting up and empowering thousands of our Iowa neighbors, thanks to the generosity of donors like you.

As an expression of your belief in our mission and ministry, we ask you to consider how you can make a lasting impact and leave a legacy for years to come. By including a gift to LSI in your will, living trust, and other estate plans, you help ensure that we can continue our mission and ministry for years to come.

There are many ways to make gifts to LSI through a will, living trust, and other estate planning vehicles, and we would welcome additional discussion about this with you. One of the easiest ways to make a gift is through a bequest (gift) in your will.

Below is an example of the bequest language you can use:

“I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise, and bequeath to Lutheran Services in Iowa [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

Legal Name: Lutheran Services in Iowa Charitable Foundation, Inc.
Address: 106 16th Street SW P.O. Box 848, Waverly, IA 50677
Federal Tax ID #: 42-1254906

Planned gifts to LSI, such as bequests, are permanently endowed in the LSI Charitable Foundation, unless otherwise designated by the donor. These gifts provide perpetual and increasing support for the ministry of LSI far into the future.

LSI also partners with qualified community foundations across Iowa to provide donors with the option of making endowment gifts that qualify for Endow Iowa tax credits. To learn more about Endow Iowa, please visit the Iowa Community Foundations website or contact Jason Lee as listed below.

Many employers will match your charitable donations, or reward your volunteerism with monetary donations to your favorite charity. You should inquire to see if you work for a company that believes in giving back like this. LSI is also a proud partner with United Way organizations across Iowa and the U.S., so we encourage you to contribute to United Way if your employer participates in their annual campaigns.

LSI staff are also a great resource for making presentations and providing education to employee groups over lunch-and-learns and other forums to help engage your employees in the community and the work of LSI.

Church Relations

For more than 150 years, LSI has partnered with churches and faith communities to bring hope, healing, and wholeness to our neighbors across Iowa. Our collaboration with church and faith community partners supports our mission to respond to the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service. Together, as ministry partners, we can better serve our neighbors and communities. Please join LSI as a ministry partner today!

We would love to share our mission with your congregation! An LSI speaker can join your church or faith community during worship, adult education classes, or a special presentation.

Schedule a visit by calling 866.584.5293 or emailing ChurchRelations@LSIowa.org.

Your prayers are one of the simplest and most important ways to support LSI. Lift up the needs of the most vulnerable Iowans and the mission of LSI by praying for strength, hope, and healing for the thousands of Iowans we empower. We can provide specific prayer needs and concerns, so please let us know how we can help you lift up LSI and those we serve in prayer.

LSI’s First Circle Friends program partners with Iowa churches to provide group respite care for people with early to mid-stage memory loss and their families.

“First Circle Friends has provided our community with a much-needed service. Our volunteers not only have discovered an important and rewarding avenue of service, but gained new friends themselves.” – Pastor Paul Holmer, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clinton, Iowa

“First Circle Friends is heaven-sent. Without it, I couldn’t do what I need to do.” – Laura, a caregiver and wife
