Chemical dependency and process addictions are defined, and the similarities of these addictions are identified. The etiology of addiction is briefly explored as well as the behavioral, physical, and psychological symptoms of the disease. The risk and protective factors influencing the likelihood of developing an addiction are discussed, followed by a deeper dive into alcohol addiction. Support groups/meetings and other community resources are also identified.
This training has been approved for 2 hours of foster parent training credit.
