Located in Des Moines, Abdi’s home features a spacious private backyard, providing a peaceful retreat where you can relax and unwind. The home is conveniently located near Merle Hay Mall, Hy-Vee, and a variety of attractions, offering easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Abdi, 29, and his mother, 63, are welcoming and open to offering support to both male and female individuals. They are also open to working with someone who smokes.

A message from Abdi to his Host Homes mentee: “I am a single male, 29 years old. I currently live in Des Moines, Iowa. In the last 5 years, I have worked as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) providing caregiving services – which I absolutely love and enjoy doing. I also worked for John Deere in their technology space (fun fact: I am good with computers!)

I am mostly proud about the relationships I have built with my clients over the years as a DSP. It is not always easy, but we have a lot of fun and joy. We go out to eat at different restaurants, watch NFL or Hawkeyes/Iowa State during Football season, listen to music, go bowling, take car trips, grocery shopping, and attend fun activities!

I am very kind, caring and easy going. I am also very patient and easy to get a long with. With you in my home, there are 3 things you can expect from me;  1) I will treat you with Respect, 2) a Safe place you can call Home, and 3) a reliable friend in life.”
